The issue with that is that the handheld process leaves behind residual code that one day, BMW Motorrad is going to setup ISTA to detect this. The process is to flash the ECU and then return the ECU to stock condition BEFORE you see the dealer for any work. I cannot imagine how many threads there are in this forum already on this subject.ĪLL FLASH work to a BMW motorcycle not done by a certified BMW Motorrad dealer will void the warranty. Also you can do a bunch of the work yourself with a gs911 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Just don’t tell them it’s flashed and always flash back to stock before brining it back in. Also motors have been replaced that have been flashed on here. You can do stage 2 and have them program the flappers to stay open so when flashing back to stock you don’t have to reinstall. If you got stage 2 removing the flappers will be a dead giveaway if you don’t install them back as it’s probably gonna throw a code. This way since the software won’t be updated I can flash right back when I get home. You do not have my consent to update software and my name under it. I also have a piece of paper printed attached to the port in the back saying do not update software. I just flash mine back to stock before going in for any warranty work and have with no issues. The only way to get the full power back is the flash. The torque map will bring back some of the flat spot but the top end your gonna lose like 20hp.
